About Me

I've been working with dogs for more than 14 years. Over the years I've pursued an education in dog behaviour by attending seminars, webinars, reading books, watching videos, and consulting with colleagues. The vast majority of my experience is in handling and modifying reactive behaviours. I have taught hundreds of dogs and their owners how to have a safer, more pleasant walk experience in both group and private settings. I am an Accredited Dog Trainer with the IAABC as well as a long time member of the Colorado Dog Trainer's Network.

I believe in creating a partnership with your dog that is based in safety, trust, and agency. I love to walk with dogs and get a deep satisfaction from improving their walk experience.

Behaviour Coaching 60mins - $115

Do you have questions about your dog's behaviour? Need solutions for a problem you're having at home? Or just want to do the training yourself and need help with the hows and whys? 

this is the service for you.

Behaviour Coaching sessions are scheduled one at a time and only on Sundays. It will include a follow up email containing any relevant info and homework. 

Private training walk 60mins- $85

Does your dog struggle with reactivity, pull really hard, have a hard time paying attention, or is otherwise difficult to handle? I will spend an hour with your dog working on their self control, focus, and behaviour modification when needed. My priority is to build a trusting and cooperative relationship with your dog and will provide them with a better walk experience.

Training Walks are scheduled on Mon, Tues, Wed, and Thurs.

You will need to commit to a weekly time slot. A verbal account of your dog's experience will be given at the end of the walk if you are present. If you are not present I will send you a written account.

Get to Know you - 60minsx2 - $170

For potential Training Walk clients only.

I will use 2 x 60 minute sessions to get to know your dog, assess their comfort level, determine whether we are a good fit, and decide on a training approach that will fit your dog's needs.

Contact me through email and I will send you a behaviour questionnaire. When we decide on an appropriate service I will send you a service contract. A signed service contract and payment will be required before the service is performed.

My 2 year old border collie/ lab mix “August” worked with BEX over a 15 session period.  BEX taught me so much about how to work with August.  The sessions started with BEX and August working together and then BEX giving me some pointers.  As they got to know each other better, I was able to tag along.   BEX was able to share a huge amount of knowledge of what August was thinking and was able to come up with a strategy for her Anxiety.   We worked on foundational skills and then BEX taught us how to do decompression walks.  It worked wonders.  August anxiety was drastically reduced during those walks and I was able to use those walks as a jumping off point to teach her other skills.  Those walks turned out to be “life changing” where August and I were able to go on relaxing walks which we hadn’t been able to do in the past 2 years.
